Topspott Dalmatians

Topspott Dalmatians was established in the Adelaide Hills by Chris & Bill Spencer in 2001 with the purchase of their first show dog Ch Paceaway Fernando and foundation bitch Ch Paceaway Madison. However their love of Dalmatians began many years earlier in the 1960’s when they purchased their first Dalmatian Tasha who was a much loved family pet.

Their first litter was born in December 2003 producing their first ‘Home Bred’ Champion; Ch Topspott Toffee Caramel.

Only breeding selectively their next litter was not until May 2005 which produced Ch Topspott Rendezvous who recently became the first Neuter Champion Dalmatian in South Australia and Northern Tertitory.

A litter in October 2005 followed, producing the stunning RUBISS (Runner Up Best in Specialty Show) Ch Topspott Spiritinthesky. ‘Spirit’ was successful both in the show ring and as a mum producing five Champions from three litters.

In October 2007 BISS (Best in Specialty Show) Ch Topspott Jupiters Gold was born. At only three years of age he became the first Topspott Dalmatian to win the prestigious title of Best in Specialty Show at the 2010 Dalmatian Club of Victoria Specialty Show. This was a very special achievement for Chris and Bill.

February 2009 saw the birth of a very exciting litter from Multi Ch Alphadirato Future Brand (Imp Nwy) and RUBISS Ch Topspott Spirit Inthesky. This litter produced six puppies. Three of which have been very successful in the Show Ring were titled by 18 months of age. ‘Jyro’ RUBISS Ch Topspott Firebrand achieved the amazing result of Runner Up Best in Show at the 2010 Dalmatian National out of an entry of over 200 Dalmatians! ‘Cherry’ BISS Ch Topspott Cherry Brandy had her first litter of thirteen puppies in January 2011 and at her first show back she won Best in Show at the 2011 Dalmatian Club of Queensland Specialty Show. Another fantastic result for team Topspott.

We currently have three of Cherry’s puppies in the show ring. In just 2 weeks of showing and at only 5 months of age ‘Talisker’ Topspott Talisker AtPaceaway has won four Baby Puppy in Show awards and two Baby Puppy in Group awards. The future is looking very bright for this young lady.

In April 2011, after enjoying some extraordinary wins, Chris and Bill decided to retire from breeding and showing Dalmatians. After being so good to me over the years and after achieving such great results in the Show Ring I felt it would be a shame to let Topspott ‘retire’ too. I offered, if Chris and Bill were interested, to continue breeding under the Topspott prefix. To my delight, they accepted my offer.

My love of Dalmatians began when Mum and Dad got me my first Dalmatian Rosie when I was 8. Rosie was a wonderful and loyal companion who was by my side until I was 22 and she was 14.

I purchased my second Dalmatian Indy with Paul, who is now my husband, in 2006. Tragically Indy died after an accident at only 18 months of age.

Bailey, Whytewood Haillee Baillee ET was my first show dog. She joined us in August 2008. She took out Best Baby Puppy in Show at her first show out of a huge entry of Babies at the Dalmatian Club of Victoria Championship show. After that I was hooked…
