Buying considerations

· What do you know about dalmatians?

· Why do you want to own a dalmatian?

· Do you have the time?

-walking

-puppy preschool

-obedience training

· Is your garden safe and secure enough to raise a puppy?

-fences over 1800mm and “dig proof”

-swimming pool

-self closing / secure gates

-do you have a shady cool place to leave your puppy

check for dangerous items eg. garden tools / pesticides

· Is your house/garden puppy proof eg, household chemicals/ swinging doors

· Do you work all day-how will you manage the puppy?

· Have you educated your children about how to handle/play with a puppy?

· Do you have another dog/pets in the household?

-treat all other animals and bedding in the household for worms and fleas 2 weeks before taking your puppy home.

- ensure that all other animals are up to date with their vaccinations

· A puppy collar and lead

· A crate / car harness / cargo barrier for the car.

· 2 strong non chewable /non breakable water bowls

· Feeding bowl-non chewable / non breakable

· Sun block-baby or puppy for little noses

· Food as advised

· Toys
